APIs first. Screen automation is fragile against UI changes and costs more to maintain, so we apply it only where API or database access is not possible.
We use a dedicated automation account scoped to the minimum permissions required and keep an execution history. Credentials are stored outside the codebase.
The failure point and cause are logged and the owner is notified. A retry policy and a manual fallback procedure are defined so the work itself never stops.
